The building dates from the 1970s, a decade when Athens built with ambition and proper materials. Its wood and marble floors are the originals, restored rather than replaced. Same floors, same rooms.
Everything added since is chosen to sit beside them: walnut doors and joinery, terrazzo on the terraces, brass fittings, whitewashed walls. Nothing here pretends to be older than it is, and nothing pretends to be new.

Saturday mornings:
Kallidromiou Farmers' Market
Fresh produce, flowers, olives and cheese, one block up the hill from the front door. It sets up every Saturday morning and is packed away by early afternoon. Every apartment here has a full kitchen, and this is the best reason to cook in rather than book a table.
Evening strolls:
Lycabettus Hill
The big sunset view over Athens, close enough to decide on it after dinner rather than plan it the day before. Funicular or hike up, depending on the hour and how much light is left. From the top you get the whole city at once, which is the one thing a rooftop cannot give you. If you go once, go for the sunset.
Getting around:
On foot, mostly
Exarchia is one of the most walkable parts of Athens. For almost everything you will want to do day to day, your feet are the best option.
For getting around the wider city, we recommend Uber. It is reliable, affordable and works seamlessly throughout Athens at any hour.
The metro is worth knowing for two specific trips. For the beaches, take Line 2 (Red) from Panepistimio station directly to Elliniko, then a short Uber to the coast. For Piraeus and the island ferries, take Line 2 to Omonia and switch to Line 1 (Green) towards Piraeus.
If you are arriving by car, message us beforehand and we will suggest the best parking options nearby.
